A estética de Hegel, longe de ficar adstrita à análise das obras de arte, é rica em categorias úteis para a análise da forma jurídica. Nessa perspectiva, tanto a arte como o direito resultam do mesmo espírito coletivo. No entanto, a estética de Hegel, diferentemente de sua filosofia do direito, evidencia a componente trágica desse espírito.
