Características de la vivienda mendocina en la primera mitad del siglo XX

The main aim of this paper is to analyze the housing conditions of the population in the province of Mendoza between the end of 19th century and the middle of 20th century taking into account the changes and the continuities of the local economic growth process.The reconstruction of the housing conditions appears as relevant in order to evaluate, on the one hand,the impact of the economic growth;on the other hand, the consequences of the unequal income distribution. From this general framework, this paper investigates the development of housing performance considering that this dimension allows approximating to more general living conditions as well as the possible divergences between economic growth and development.
