Hábitat y condiciones de vida en la Argentina

This paper examines the habitat indicators -referred to the provision of public services as well as to the environment- collected in an ad hoc form in the 2001 Census. Starting from a special processing, it was possible to incorporate this information in a GIS in order to make a preliminary analysis and evaluation with the purpose of relating it with the living conditions of the Argentine population at regional level (511 spatial units in 2001). The level of inequity in the provision of services as well as in the quality of the environment is remarkable; in both cases this process is closely related to the process of social exclusion and the privatization of public services in Argentina during the 1990s.
