Abstract: The regular practice of physical exercise is important, because through it is possible to minimizethe biological and physiological processes of aging, providing positive changes in disease prevention and healthmaintenance. In the elderly, the changes caused by these processes are prominent and contribute to the onset ofdegenerative diseases, the elderly often leading to a state of weakness and dependency. The objective of thisstudy was to compare muscle flexibility of elderly participants group in the "Pleasure of the best age" with thedata obtained from a control group also elderly, who were not part of this project in a neighborhood of the city ofBelo Horizonte. In this study was used the Flexiteste. The results showed improvements in the target group,demonstrating that this group is presented to best way different the test in comparison with the control group.According to the results, there were significant differences among the groups (P <0.05). Physical activitiesproposed for the group of seniors who participate in the project have key role in these improvements, with greatrelevance to the activities of stretching and flexibility. The benefits of physical activity, it is suggested morestudies related to the deepening of the theme.
