Abstract:

Subsequent to tooth whitening, there may be a need for replacing restorations using adhesive-estheticprocedures. The objective was to evaluate the bond strength of composite resin to enamel bleached teeth (DC) andunbleached teeth (DNC) as a function of three adhesive systems. We used the 10% Whiteness Perfect (FGM), the resinFiltek Z-350 and the adhesive systems Scotchbond Multi Adper Pourpose, Single Bond 2 and Adper Easy One (3MESPE). It created six groups (n = 10), as follows: G1 = DNC + Adper Scotchbond Multi Pourpose G2 = DC + AdperScotchbond Multi Pourpose; G3 = DNC + Single Bond 2; G4 = DC + Single Bond 2; G5 DNC = + Adper Easy One,and G6 = DC + Adper Easy One. Was selected 30 molars cut (MD) in 1000 ISOMET cutter (Buehler) and embedded ina PVC pipe. The enamel surfaces were flattened in metallographic polishing (TECLAGO). The specimens were clearedfor 2 hours daily for 14 days and stored under 100% relative humidity at 37 ± 2 ° C. After 24h, the adhesive protocolswere performed and an silicone matrix (2mm diameter / height) was juxtaposed to the specimen to insert the resin.Polymerized with Elipar FreeLight 2 (3M ESPE) for 40 seconds. The specimens were subjected to shear in machine EMIC DL 2000, load cell 200 Kgf and the actuator speed 0.5 mm / min. The results (MPa) was applied using ANOVAand Tukey test (p <0.05), G3 (11.3 ± 1.18)> G1 (5.5 ± 1.39) = G5 (4 , 5 ± 0.92) and G4 (16.5 ± 1.21)> G2 (7.2 ± 1.45)= G6 (6.0 ± 1.02). It was concluded that for DC and DNC the adhesive systems showed statistically similar behavior,and the adhesive system Single Bond 2 showed the highest bond strength to enamel.
