The obsession of the enclosure L'ossessione del recinto

This paper is about the architectural experience which evolved through the design of cemeteries. Describing five different cases, we identified the relationship between the foundamental principle of the enclosure and its variations due to specific contextual conditions, both related to existing historical elements and to the local landscape. In this way the project for new cemeteries or their enlargement become an experimentation on "identity variations". Il testo tratta di una riflessione relativa all'esperienza progettuale maturata nell'ambito di edifici cimiteriali. Attraverso la presentazione di cinque casi specifici si è individuato il rapporto tra il principio fondativo del recinto e le sue diverse declinazioni, determinate dalle specifiche condizioni contestuali legate alle presitenze storiche e paesaggistiche definendo una sorta di sperimentazione sulle “variazioni dell'identità”.
