POR UM FIO DIALóGICO ENTRE VYGOTSKY E BAKHTIN

This paper aims to establish relations between Vygotsky’s and Bakhtin’s thoughts based on dialectics and their ideas about how to make science. Vygotsky focused his studies on human cognition and tried to make it explicit the connection between human behavior and speech. To attribute Bakhtin some interest in human cognition, however, could seem nonsensical, as he seeks to understand human communication. But Bakhtin speaks of the internalization of language, as well as Vygostky defends the role of language in ordering thought. Then language seems to be an important meeting point between those authors, who didn’t meet each other but lived in the same historical and ideological context, and thus it’s possible to establish an interesting dialogue between them.
