DALCíDIO JURANDIR: PARA ALéM DO ROMANCISTA

In addition to publishing ten novels that make up the cycle Far North and the work Linha do Parque, Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979) contributed several newspapers and magazines of the Brazilian press as a reporter, columnist and art critic. Among these journals, is the Diretrizes, a weekly that circulated in Rio de Janeiro from 1938 to 1949. What stood out most in this newspaper was the presence of a fixed column - Literary Front, in which the paraense writer appears as an art critic. Therefore, the objective of this work is verify the critical contribution of Dalcídio Jurandir for that journal, trying to observe until the author’s opinion about the Literature, unfolded in the technique used by him in his fictional universe. To do this, was selected three novels of the writer: Chove nos campos de Cachoeira, Marajó e Linha do Parque.
