The architect- draughtsman uses a theoretical–graphic code whose foundations - of obvious Platonic lineage - attempt to organize and make sense to the reality. Perhaps the most powerful tool that he has in his hands to translate the existing world in a dense and polysemous model and to envisage the future one, in a compelling and creative way, becomes from descriptive geometry. Today, the context in which the architect works is violently changed and the "geometry", in the digital image, seems to have lost memory of its projective origins. Two loci - one related to the stonecutting’s tradition, the other to the experiences of contemporary art - seem to be able to bring out in a renewed way, "the figures of the demonstration" associated with descriptive geometry. Come è noto, l’architetto rappresentatore utilizza un codice teorico-grafico le cui fondamenta, di evidente discendenza platonica, tentano di organizzare il e dare un senso al reale. Forse lo strumento più potente che gli è toccato in sorte per tradurre il mondo esistente in un modello denso e polisemico e per prefigurare quello a venire, in modo convincente e creativo, è proprio quello fornitogli dalla geometria descrittiva. Oggi il contesto in cui il disegnatore opera è violentemente cambiato e la "geometria", nell’immagine digitale, sembra aver perso memoria della sua origine proiettiva. Due loci – uno legato alla tradizione del taglio delle pietre, l’altro alle esperienze dell’arte contemporanea - sembrano poter far riemergere, in modo inedito, "le figure delle dimostrazione" associate alla geometria descrittiva.
