Evolu o das estratégias de investiga o do arroz no INIA - Portugal Evolution of research strategies of rice at INIA - Portugal

Um dos principais desafios das organiza es de investiga o agrícola é a necessidade de incorporar nas suas estratégias, práticas inovadoras com vista à sustentabilidade. Na fileira do arroz português observam-se mudan as económicas associadas com as preocupa es ambientais e sociais. Este estudo tem por objectivo descrever a dinamica das mudan as no Instituto Nacional de Investiga o Agrária - INIA, uma das principais organiza es de investiga o aplicada à fileira do arroz português. Os resultados indicaram a presen a de três fases no desenvolvimento da investiga o em arroz no INIA, nomeadamente "o INIA provedor de investiga o aplicada ao sistema de produ o agrícola do arroz", "o INIA mínimo na investiga o aplicada ao sistema de produ o agrícola do arroz", "o INIA incentivador da coordena o da fileira e agrega o de valor ao arroz". Foi possível identificar distúrbios, regras genéricas orientadoras da investiga o, estratégias de investiga o e factores externos a cada uma destas fases. One of the main challenges to agro research organizations is the need to incorporate innovative strategies considering sustainability. On Portuguese rice chain it is noticeable economic changes associated with social and environmental concerns. This study aims to describe the dynamic of the changes at the National Institute of Agro Research (INIA)- Portugal, one of the most important organizations in this area. The results indicate the presence of three main stages on the development of the research at INIA, namely "INIA leader of the applied research of agro production of rice", "INIA reduced role on applied research of agro production of rice", "INIA promoter of chain organization and addition of value to rice". It was possible to identify disturbances, generic rules leading to research, research strategies and external factors in each one of the three phases.
