From dependence to autonomy: from theory to practice

This communication is a new application of the general theory “autonomy/dependency/strategy” presented at CALASS 2008 (Latin association for health system analysis congress, Brussels). It applies here to the relationship between the carer and cared (dependency), which requires before the measurement of levels of Autonomy. This requires identifying the system of culturalvalues and the means of each person, “awakened” by the aid and acts performed during hospitalization.For these acts, the theory can point values and means in synergy and in opposition, hence the choice of appropriate strategies (choice of mobilization/demobilization of values identified in the patient in line with those Caregiver, or use or not use certain means), the fundamental mission of care is to vary the patient’s autonomy by the momentary dependency.Prat Organ Soins 2010;41(1):151-159
