Impact Testing of the Panels Made of Composite Materials Reinforced with Woven Glass Fabric and Wood FlourKeywords: low-velocity impact , composite material , glass fibres , wood flour. Abstract: In this paper, the mechanical behaviour of thelaminated composite panels reinforced with bothwoven glass fabric and wood flour was investigated,during the low velocity impact test. A drop-weight testdevice was used for this purpose. In order to assessthe response parameters, a block diagram wasdesigned using LabView program. Five rectangularcomposite panels were investigated, simply supportedon all edges. All panels had the same structure ofmaterials: seven layers of glass woven fabric / epoxyresin and oak wood flour as the filler material on theinterface of the layers. The effects of the differentimpact velocities on the mechanical behaviour ofthese composite panels were analyzed.
