Reflection about of the brazilian public politicians in the context of post colonialism

Abstract:

Objectives: to describe the public policy on mental health in Brazil and hold a reflection from the perspective of the standard of post-colonialism, by portuguese sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos. Method: this is a qualitative, descriptive literature from documents of the Ministry of Health and publications available in virtual libraries in health. Thus, were analyzed laws, ordinances and decrees published by the Ministry of Health. Results: currently, mental health care should have the territory as an area for care, and the Psychosocial Attention Center/CAPS — the equipament of choice. The CAPS is available to users: psychiatric care, psychotropic, nursing care, social assistence, individual and group therapies and workshops to generate income, with the solidary economy, such as counter-hegemonic strategy. To meet the demands of users, the CAPS should liaise with all social sectors and local health services, composing the "Network". Conclusion: the publics policies on mental health of ministry of Health of Brazil has its pillar in the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform. The emancipation of the person suffering from mental disorders should be considered with the participation of representatives of civil society, respecting the cultural and social differences existed in the country.
