Topological and statistical approaches describing inhomogeneously polarized light fields

Relationships between the topological and statistical approaches for de-scribing inhomogeneously polarized optical fields are considered. It is shown that the correlation length of polarization parameters of the field is comparable with the mean distance between the points with orthogonal states of polarization
