Abstract:

Teachers were given the right by the Turkish Education System during 2012-2013 educational year to transfer their subject matters to the undergraduate minors they received during university years and classroom teachers were given the option of teaching Special Education or Technology and Design classes without extra stipulations. Current study mainly aimed to determine the levels of teacher satisfaction following the change of subject area as well as the reasons for the transfer, the factors that affect teachers’ level of satisfaction and whether there was a relationship between the levels of satisfaction and personal variables such as age and seniority. The study also examined the training needs and teachers’ expectations from the system. For the study, researchers developed two scales that were used in the implementation phase after reliability and validity studies were conducted 2012-2013 E itim- retim y l nda; Türk E itim Sisteminde retmenlere üniversite e itimi s ras nda ald klar yan alanlar na g re ve s n f retmenlerine zel E itim ile Teknoloji ve Tasar m retmenli ine yan alan art olmaks z n ge i hakk tan nm t r. Bu do rultuda ger ekle tirilen ara t rmada alan de i tiren retmenlerin yeni alanlar na ili kin memnuniyet düzeylerini belirleme temel amac n n yan s ra alan de i tirme nedenleri, memnuniyet durumunu etkileyen fakt rler ve bu fakt rler ile ya , hizmet y l gibi ki isel de i kenlerle memnuniyet durumlar aras nda ili ki olup olmad da de erlendirilmi tir. Bununla birlikte alan de i tiren retmenlerin e itim ihtiya lar ve sistemden beklentileri belirlemekte ama lanm t r. Ara t rma sürecinde ara t rmac lar taraf ndan iki l ek geli tirilmi tir. Geli tirilen l eklerin ge erlik ve güvenirlik al malar yap ld ktan sonra as l uygulamada kullan lm t r.
