Yet she has repeatedly resisted the label of ‘feminist’ throughout the years, expressing her discomfort with the movement. This article considers Mitchell’s uneasy relationship with feminism and gender politics. It argues for a reconsideration of Mitchell that takes into account her potential to disrupt and reshape our thinking about music and social activism.
