Alicantinos en Argelia. Un viaje de ida y vuelta.Keywords: Colonization , Spanish migration , Algeria Abstract: After Algeria′s colonization by France, in 1830, the African country began to be populated by Europeans: Italian, Maleteses , Spanish and of course, French people. During this Spanish migration, people from Alicante were one of most numerous groups, Both because of its proximity to African coastline and the characteristics of the work carried out in the French colony. During 19th century and early 20th, Alicantinos arrived to Algeria, many nationalised French, other maintained the identity, but when the War of Independence began in 1955, a part of them returned to Alicante, because French homeland was unkwon to them.
