NA CONTRAM O DA UTOPIA: A MEMóRIA DA DESTRUI O DA CIDADE DE S O JO O MARCOS

In 1941, the village of S o Jo o Marcos, at the boundaries of Rio de Janeiro state, was destroyed by tecnicians of the Canadian The Rio de Janeiro Tramway, Light and Power Co. Ltd. to give place to a hydroelectric dam. The main goal of this article is to recuperate and analize the expropriated memory of the village of S o Jo o Marcos' community, making use of the oral history resources as a fundamental technics to rescue from the memory of its members their identification whith that social and territorial room disapeared forever A temática desse trabalho é a recupera o e análise da memória da co-munidade expropriada da cidade fluminense de S o Jo o Marcos, destruída em 1941 por uma empresa canadense do setor elétrico, a The Rio de Janeiro Tram-way, Light and Power Co. Ltd., visando a implementa o de um projeto de a-proveitamento hidrelétrico. O objetivo central é apresentar a história oral como recurso técnico fundamental para o resgate da memória dessa comunidade, identificada com aquele espa o social e territorial que deixa de existir.
