Frequência autorreportada de vandalismo na escola: quest es de gênero, idade e escolaridade = Self-Reported frequency of vandalism at school: issues of gender, age and schooling

Esta investiga o objetivou descrever a prática de vandalismo escolar autorreportada por estudantes, relacionando-a igualmente a gênero, idade e escolaridade. Responderam a um questionário, 508 estudantes cursando da sétima série do Ensino Fundamental à terceira série do Ensino Médio de uma escola pública de Florianópolis (SC). A es que acarretam desgaste da estrutura edificada estiveram entre as menos praticadas, enquanto aquelas que afetam por es superficiais dessa estrutura por deposi o de resíduos, a es de jogar lixo no ch o e contra equipamentos alocados no prédio estiveram entre as mais reportadas. Os resultados também indicaram uma diferen a entre sexos e entre estudantes do Ensino Fundamental e Médio quanto ao vandalismo autorreportado, sugerindo que estudantes do sexo feminino e do Ensino Médio possuem maior cuidado ambiental. Uma rela o com a idade dos participantes n o foi encontrada, suscitando quest es acerca de como a série escolar e a idade interagem ao longo do processo de desenvolvimento humano pró-ambiental. This research aimed to describe the practice of self-reported school vandalism by students, also relating it to gender, age and schooling. In this way, 508 students who attended the Brazilian basic education system since the seventh year answered a questionnaire in a public school in Florianópolis (SC). Actions that cause abrasion of the built structure were the least practiced, while practices that affect the surfaces of that structure by deposition of residues, actions such as littering and against equipments allocated in the building were the most frequently reported. The results also indicated a difference between sexes and between students of the elementary and high school regarding self-reported vandalism, suggesting that female individuals and high school students have greater environmental care. A relationship with the participants’ age was not found, raising questions about how the school grade level and the age interact in the process of pro-environmental human development.
