Having been used since early times, ergonomics is the science concerned with studying the interactions of humans with their work environment, and the positive and negative effects of this relation. The approaches used in the study of ergonomics are basically two: the Anglo-Saxon and the French which, though being complementary, present some divergent aspects. Por isso, vem sendo aplicada desde tempos remotos. As abordagens de estudo, basicamente, dividem-se em dois focos: o anglo-sax o e o francês, que embora sejam complementares apresentam alguns pontos de divergência, mas ambos objetivam, em comum, atuar de forma a adequar o trabalho ao homem, prevenindo acidentes, promovendo conforto, melhorando o rendimento, e proporcionando uma maior satisfa o do trabalhador.
