Approach to a Patient with Atrial Fibrillation and Carotid Stenosis

We present a case of a 63 year- old male who had a transient cerebral ischemic event. In addition to previously known risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes and smoking, he was diagnosed high- grade carotid stenosis and atrial fi brillation. A complex approach was used to assess the patient’s medical conditions and undertake appropriate means of the secondary prevention.
