Comparing ETP calculated by penman-Monteith formulae with the evaporation from a free water table in the field of KosovoKeywords: potential evaporation , Penman Monteith formulae , sun radiation , wind velocity , relative humidity , air temperature , modifying coefficients Abstract: The study was carried out in two particular areas of “The Field of Kosovo”, Komoran and Vushtri, both significantly representing the region. A meteorological station was set up in each location. The meteorological stations were equipped with the necessary devices to measure the sun radiation, relative humidity, wind speed and air temperature. A particular computer program was installed to convert automatically the data measured by the devices into potential evapotranspiration, expressed as mm evaporated water per day, calculated based on the Penman-Monteith formulae. Simultaneously, for each experimental trial, the water evaporated from the evaporimeter Pan A was measured,at least 3 times a day, according to a well determined schedule. Both, the potential evapotranspiration data as it is calculated and the evaporimeter Pan A data were compared to each other at the very same time. The differences were significant in both locations, Komoran and Vushtri.
