The subject of the article is description of work of psychotherapists on the ward of Department of Developmental, Psychotic and Geriatric Psychiatry of Medical University of Gdansk. The group of patientsconsists of people diagnosed with different mental disorders, most of them are hospitalized for schizophrenia. The average duration of treatment is 6 weeks. The main form of treatment for patients is pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy is an additional method to help them. The psychotherapy is mainly focused on group rehabilitation, which aims to improve social relation, to give a sense of satisfaction from their achievements and sense of cooperation with therapeutic group. To each results were used elements of group therapy, therapeuticcommunity meetings, Jacobson relaxation method and psychoeducation addressed to the patients suffering from schizophrenia.
