O presente artigo procura entender a moderniza o estratégica e seletiva do estado do Ceará a partir do que se denominou vetores de moderniza o, focalizando principalmente a (re)produ o do litoral que se realiza, principalmente, por meio do turismo e da urbaniza o. Realidade que se explica tanto no contexto da procura de novos territórios e setores para a acumula o capitalista como também no cerne da subordina o do tempo livre e das demais rela es sociais que escapavam à lógica da (re)produ o das rela es de produ o capitalistas. The critical state of modernization: an analysis from the tourism cearense Abstract: This article seeks to understand the strategic and selective modernization of the state of Ceará from was what called modernization vectors, focusing mainly the (re)production of the coast which is carried out mainly through tourism and urbanization.
