Fu ball hat einen enormen Stellenwert als gesellschaftliche Bühne in Deutschland; denn jedes Wochenende sind mehrere Millionen Menschen auf verschiedene Weisen in das Ballspiel involviert – und somit auch in die sozialen Hierarchien im Umfeld wie auf dem Platz. Die Ergebnisse eines Studienprojekts an der Fachhochschule Dortmund zu Diskriminierungen im Fu ball sind im vorliegenden Band ver ffentlicht. In drei Beitr gen werden wertvolle Einblicke in sexistische, homophobe sowie rassistische Ausgrenzungen an der Basis des Breitensports gegeben und Perspektiven zu deren überwindung geboten. Doch l sst das Werk zuweilen inhaltliche Konsequenz in den Begriffen vermissen. Soccer plays a crucial role as a social stage in Germany. After all, several millions of people are involved in this ball game in various ways every weekend – and thus also in the social hierarchies on the field and beyond it. This volume presents the results of a study project on discrimination and soccer at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences. The three articles offer valuable insights into phenomena of sexist, homophobic, and racist marginalization happening at the very basis of this mass sport as well as perspectives on overcoming them. However, the work shows some lacks in contentual consistency regarding the terminology.
