MAPEAMENTO DA QUALIDADE DE VIDA URBANA EM POUSO ALEGRE, SUL DE MINAS GERAIS - DOI: 10.7154/RDG.2012.0024.0002

Este trabalho objetiva mapear a qualidade de vida urbana no município de Pouso Alegre – Minas Gerais. A metodologia utilizada consiste na elabora o de três índices: índice de qualidade ambiental, índice socioecon mico e índice de educa o, através do sistema de recupera o de informa es georreferenciadas Estatcart e do Sistema de Informa o Geográfica ILWIS. Em seguida, estes três índices s o combinados para gerar o índice de qualidade de vida. Os resultados mostraram que as regi es que apresentam maiores índices de qualidade de vida s o também as áreas mais nobres da cidade. Por fim, foi possível evidenciar os locais onde há maior necessidade de investimentos públicos. Mapping urban quality of life in Pouso Alegre, southern Minas Gerais Abstract: This paper aims to map the quality of urban life in the city of Pouso Alegre – Minas Gerais. The adopted methodology consists in the elaboration of three indexes: environmental quality, socioeconomic index and education index, through the recovery system Estatcart and the Geographic Information System (GIS) ILWIS. Then, we combined these indexes for generating the synthetic map of quality of life. The results shows regions with higher levels of quality of life are also areas of the city's finest.
