DESAFIOS PARA A FORMA O DE PROFESSORES NAS UNIVERSIDADES PúBLICAS. CHALLENGES FOR THE TRAINING OF TEACHERS IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES

O presente artigo examina alguns dos desafios que se p em para a forma o de professores nas universidades públicas, tendo em vista, dentre outros, o movimento de expans o da oferta do ensino de gradua o promovido nos termos do Programa de Apoio a Planos de Reestrutura o e Expans o das Universidades Federais (REUNI); as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a Forma o de Professores da Educa o Básica, nos cursos de licenciatura; além dos apelos do ensino a distancia, que vem se instaurando gradativamente. é sabido que as licenciaturas ocuparam historicamente lugar secundário em rela o aos bacharelados na cena universitária e que, face às demandas da escola contemporanea, demandam, de forma expressiva e recorrente, a redefini o de seus contornos político-pedagógicos para reorientar o pensar e o fazer na forma o docente inicial e continuada. N o obstantes as demandas manifestas no tocante às licenciaturas, fazem-se presentes os riscos da expans o inconsequente da oferta de ensino, se levada a efeito de afogadilho; as amea as de estrangulamento do currículo, resultante da inadequada apropria o das Diretrizes Curriculares e, por fim, o risco da precariza o e do aligeiramento dessa forma o, na esteira da incorpora o do ensino a distancia. Assim, é fundamental que tais desafios sejam desvelados, para que seu exame crítico venha ensejar alternativas em favor da forma o de professores.This article examines some of the challenges that are set for the training of teachers in Brazilian public universities, aiming, among others, the movement to expand the supply of undergraduate education promoted under the REUNI (Program to Support Restructuring and Expansion of Federal Universities) and the National Curricular Guidelines for Teacher Training for Basic Education in undergraduate courses, in addition to the appeals of distance education, which is gradually being established. It is known that the teaching training courses historically occupied a secondary place in relation to university bachelor degrees at the university context and that, given the demands of the contemporary school, they need, in an expressive and recurrent way, the redefinition of their political and teaching outlines to reorient thinking and doing in initial and continuing teacher training. Despite the clear demands in regard to teacher training courses, there are the risks of reckless expansion of educational opportunities, to be carried out hastily; threats of strangulation of the curriculum, resulting from the improper appropriation of the Curriculum Guidelines and, finally, the ri
