STUDY OF THE VARIABILITY OF SOME FRUIT PARAMETERS IN ROSA CANINA L. GENOTYPES FROM SEVERAL LOCAL POPULATIONS IN BAC U, NEAM AND VRANCEA COUNTIES

There were studied 36 genotypes of Rosa canina L. belonging to 25 native populations from the counties ofBac u, Neam and Vrancea. The analyzed genotypes displayed a high variability of fruit density/individual (shrub), andalso of the shape, size, colour and biomass, and of the content of vitamin C in fruits. There were identified genotypes ofgreat perspective in this species’ amelioration as it concerns the fruit density/plant, a lower density of stem prickles, thefresh biomass/hip, and the content of vitamin C in the ripe fruits.
