CONSIDERACIONES PARA EL DISE O DE PROGRAMAS MOTIVACIONALES DE ENTRENAMIENTO PSICOLóGICO EN EL DEPORTE

This study analyze the relationship between a set of psychological variables (general sport motivation, perception of ability, and goal orientation) and the athletes preference for different level of difficulty tasks. Results show that ego goal orientation is the best predictor of preference for easy sport tasks and that task orientation predict the preference for high level of difficulty tasks. The implications of this findings in the design of motivational sport interventions are discussed. KEY WORDS: Preference for different level of difficulty tasks, goal orientation . Este trabajo, analiza las relaciones entre un conjunto de variables psicológicas (motivación general para el deporte, percepción de habilidad y orientación de metas) y la preferencia de los deportistas por tareas con diferente nivel de dificultad. Los resultados muestran que la orientación al ego es el mejor predictor de la preferencia por tareas fáciles y que la orientación a la tarea predice la preferencia por tareas con alto nivel de dificultad. Se reflexiona acerca de las implicaciones de estos resultados en el dise o de intervenciones motivacionales en el deporte.
