SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL EVALUATION OF SOME AMINO ACID DERIVATIVES OF 2-AMINO-4-METHYLTHIAZOLEKeywords: 2-amino-4-methylthiazole , N-aminoacyl derivatives , antimicrobial activity Abstract: The synthesis of a new series of 2-[N-(Tos-, Pht- or tetrachlorophthalyl)-aminoacyl]- or free 2-(aminoacyl)- or 2-[N-(Tos- or Pht-)dipeptidyl]amino-4-methyl-thiazole derivatives (II-XXIII) is described. Further, Schiff base and hippuroyl compounds (XXIV and XXV respectively) are obtained in high yield. The biological activity of the compounds cited in this article is reported.
