Les particules modals alemanyes en català: els diccionaris bilingües com a eina de traducció [The German modal particles in Catalan: Bilingual dictionaries as translation tools]

In this paper, the German modal particles and their equivalents in Catalan in the main German-Catalan bilingual dictionaries are analyzed. German modal particles pose problems for translators because there is no similar word class in Catalan. The aim is to see whether the equivalents found in the dictionaries can be used as direct trans lations. Some other points, such as grammatical information and other equivalents found in the dictionaries will be also taken into account.
