INTER-RELA ES ENTRE FATORES FíSICOS E SOCIOECON MICOS NA DIN MICA DE USO DA TERRA NO EXTREMO SUL DA BAHIA INTERRELATIONS BETWEEN PHYSICAL FACTORS AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC DYNAMICS OF LAND USE IN THE EXTREME SOUTHERN BAHIAKeywords: cellulose , economic activities , development Abstract: The development of economic activities in a region is affected by a number of interrelated factors, among which are highlighted the economic, social and natural elements. These interrelations can be observed in the land use and occupancy dynamics, in the spaces of the extreme Southern Bahia. In this region, due to the natural attractions availability, forestry has been leading to new forms of capitalist accumulation and exploitation of nature, reconfiguring the regional space. This article aims to show the relationships between natural, economic and social resources in the reconfiguration of the regional space. For this, the work relied on literature surveys about the natural characteristics of the region and socioeconomic data, relating to land ownership, land use and population dynamics of the last thirty years, using data obtained from the IBGE(Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) and SEI (Superintendency of Social and Economic Studies of Bahia). It was observed that the natural characteristics of the region have brought prosperity to the forestry sector, which has developed itself, occupying large areas of land, causing land concentration, measured by the Gini Index. The observed transformations were also accompanied by migration of population from rural to urban in search of better opportunities.
