In vitro evaluation of anticancer property of anthocyanin extract from Musa acuminate bractAbstract: Anthocyanins are potent anticarcinogenic properties against several cancers thusdemonstrating potential for cancer prevention. In the present study, we haveinvestigated the chemopreventive effects of anthocyanin extracted from Musa acuminatabract against human breast cancer cell line (MCF-7). Acidified methanolic extracts fromMusa acuminata bract has shown 12.24% inhibition at 1000μg/ml concentration againstMCF-7 cell line. Results indicated that anthocyanin from Musa acuminata bract extractshad strong antiproliferative activity against MCF-7 cell lines at varying concentration. These results encourage the bioactive constituents as chemopreventive agents for humanbreast cancer.
