Analysis to Maturity Levels in CMMI and ISO Models

Abstract:

Both CMMI as ISO are important models with widely acceptance for evaluating and improving software processes. Both structure and carry out common continuous representations but as models are different and proposed various sets of processes differentiated primarily on the structure of its stages. CMMI is based on the classic idea of the 5 maturity levels proposed by Humphrey in 1988, while ISO promotes acontinuous model to evaluate the process capability. However, this community has recognized the benefits of a staged representation and the standard 2008 version introduced the framework of organizational maturity of 6 levels. This paper investigates and analyzes the relationship between levels of maturity and process capability ofthese two models.
