AVALIA O ESPERMáTICA E DOSAGEM SéRICA DE CORTISOL EM DOIS SUíNOS EM DIFERENTES PERíODOS DO DIA

A suinocultura é um importante setor da pecuária nacional, apresentando um dos melhores desempenhos econ micos no cenário internacional, o qual se deve aos avan os tecnológicos e organizacionais. Dentre esses avan os, a insemina o artificial (IA) é uma biotécnica aplicada à reprodu o de suínos. No entanto, para que haja sucesso na implanta o de programas de IA, outros aspectos devem ser considerados tais como estado nutricional, manejo sanitário e qualidade do sêmen, essa última refletindo ainda na qualidade genética e produtiva do plantel, daí a importancia de se avaliar o sêmen utilizado. Assim, o presente trabalho teve o intuito de avaliar a qualidade do sêmen e dosagem sérica de cortisol de dois reprodutores suínos em diferentes períodos do dia, e relacionar os achados com o conforto térmico e bem-estar animal. Os resultadosobtidos no presente trabalho mostram, que a temperatura ambiente n o comprometeu a fertilidade dos animais; que os animais apresentaram melhores resultados sob temperatura de 26 C o que sugere melhor conforto térmico e bem-estar, quando a dosagem de cortisol foi menor.The swine is an important sector in the national cattle, presenting one of the best economic performance, which is because of the technologic and organizational advances. Among theses advances, theartificial insemination (AI) is a biotechnique applied to the suine reproduction. However, for reaching success in the implantation of the AI programs, others aspects should be considered as well as the nutritional condition, sanitary management and semen quality, this one still reflects in the genetics and productive quality of thebreeding stock, which is the importance of evaluating the utilized semen. For that, this project aims to analyze the semen quality and the serum levels of cortisol in two swine reproduces in different periods of the day and relates the results with the thermal comfort and well-being of the animals. The obtained results of this workshowed that the environmental temperature did not injure the animals fertility, the animals presented better results under the temperature of 26o Celsius, what suggests better thermal comfort and well-being when the dosing of cortisol is minor.
