This article lay down the overall problematic of time in the philosophical tradition whose deficiencies were sought to be overcome by Heidegger. Thinkers like Blanchot and Derrida criticized and continued the task than Heidegger had begun, pointing to a messianic time different from an active, resolute projection of authentic Dasein. Thinkers like Slavoj i ek criticize this approach and try to figure out the dialectical relation between eternity and time through a radical lecture of the Christian legacy.
