To attemp to represent the unrepresentable is to corrupt the divine. Obviously contrary tendencies are also at work in the Christian tradition. In this article I will attempt to create a dialogue between religion and the twentieth-century art to find the possibility of refiguring the polarities and oppositions that structure aesthetic thought.
