El Cine multi-protagonista: Autenticidad,Keywords: Cinema , multi-protagonist , epiphany , narrative , post-modernity , authenticity , modernism Abstract: This paper fights the cultural “lotta continua” provoked by Charles Taylor inside the ideal of the authenticity. The description of the indirect epiphanies in the modernist poetry, made in his works, The Malaise of Modernity and Sources of the Self, will help us to identify their potentials of application in the multi-protagonist cinema. We will see how the post-modern cinema does not only respond to the formal dimension of the authenticity, but, in some cases, includes a moral content, although this is inseparable of a personal reading of the cinematic text.
