La redescripción de la idea clásica de subjetividad en Freud y su influencia en Rorty

This paper tries to present the redescription of the classical idea of subjectivity introduced by Sigmund Freud and part of its influence on Richard Rorty’s work. In this sense, this text opens itself in four ways. First of all, it shows the fundamental ideas that gave psychoanalysis its revolutionary dimension. Secondly, it studies Freud’s philosophical assumptions in order to view his criticism to the classical idea of subjectivity. Thirdly, it reviews the conception on subjectivity developed in three of Freud’s works. Finally, it tests the influence of that conception in Contingency, irony and solidarity, one of the most important of Rorty’s works.
