L’approccio è senza contatto e conduce dopo un’elaborazione software, più o meno automatica, a un modello spaziale foto-realistico e misurabile. The acquisition of this information is nowadays more and more connected with active optical sensors, such as terrestrial laser scanners. These devices emit light energy towards objects of interest and record the return rate: this way, a non-contact approach to modeling and imaging is allowed.The paper, starting with an overview on terrestrial scanning technology, shortly analyzes the technical enhancement regarding automation for virtual reconstruction and photo-texturing.
