OS SAL ES DA BELLE éPOQUE: UMA LEITURA DE MADAME POMMERY, DE HILáRIO TáCITO

In this paper, we intend to make a few remarks about a specific episode occurred in the Brazilian Belle époque - the emergence of the arrival halls and the so-called "Polish Jews", coming from Eastern Europe, and they landed here because of the promises of marriage, but who would eventually become prostitutes in the cities of S o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. All this is thematized in the narrative Madame Pommery, by Hilário Tácito.
