Functional evaluation of patients whit congestive heart failure through standardized scales

The congestive heart failure (CHF) has been pointedas the first cardiovascular cause of hospitalization in Brazil and your sinptomatology manifests himself by the functional incapability beginning. The objective of this study was to describe the functional evaluation of patients whit CHF through the classification of the New York Heart Association(NYHA) and the scale of “Medida de Independência Funcional” (MIF). For this study, it was created a descriptive investigation whit a quantitative approach, whose involved a population that was composed for 30 adult people, from both genders, CHF carriers and who were hospitalized. The results had found that 83,4% of the patients had been classified in the two levels of biggest functional incapability from NYHA and 53,3% of the sample, using the application of the MIF, was presented between 61 and 103 points. Using the both scales was possible to see that the functional incapability levels seen inthe NYHA had established a possible relation whit a bigger functional dependence evaluated using the MIF. Concluding that the MIF can be utilized as a alternative to increment the functional evaluation of patients whit CHF, once that looks like to present a good reliability in showing data that put a relation between the data of a established scale.
