Prevalence of falls and associated factors in elderly patients with strockKeywords: Aged , Stroke , Prevalence , Accidental Falls Abstract: This study is cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive, with the objective to determine the prevalence and associated factors of falls in elderly patients with Stroke attending the Municipal Center for Prevention and Physical Rehabilitation of the City of Jequié (NUPREJ ). The study population was comprised of 22 seniors, being used as an instrument of data collection the Mini Mental State Examination and a questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic characteristics and health aspects. The results of the study showed a prevalence of falls in 78.9% of subjects, in addition to 42.1% of the elderly had systolic hypertension and 36.8% diabetes mellitus, likewise, 63.8% had some visual changes. Therefore it is necessary to the development and implementation of actions that will prevent the occurrence of falls in older adults with neurological impairment.
