Y danos salud y vida! Enfermedades en el Valle Central chileno, siglo XIX / Give Us Health and Life! Diseases at Chilean Central Valley, XIX Century

This article attempts an approach, from the historical point of view, to the study of diseases that affected the Chilean Central Valley society in the nineteenth century. We will analyze the life conditions of the society of the time and various factors that influenced the diseases propagation, the main characteristics of the mentioned ones and their effects on people. Finally, we will know what were the decisions taken by both the State and the people themselves, to combat the ills in the context of a traditional society.
