Human Computer Interaction – A Modern OverviewAbstract: Human Computer Interaction (HCI) is a disciplinewhich aims at an established understanding anddesigning of different interfaces between humansand computers in a way that it defines systems thatare enjoyable to use, are engaging and areaccessible. In 1970’s, the development in HCI wasmajorly inclined towards “usability” of theinteraction systems. Since then, HCI has set apositive growth in developing designs as well asevaluation methods to ensure that technologies areeasy to learn and use. While, HCI leads to efficientuser handling, the questions about increasinghuman dependency on computers and how it leadsto a change such as: not being able to respond fullyto beauty, are ignored with development. Hence, with novel touch to our future, the HCI practitionersin the coming years should strive for a conflictionfree world where technology and quotidian lifeexists in harmony.
