La fiebre que llega desde el Norte: La correspondencia privada de un matrimonio comunista en los orígenes de la Guerra Fría (1947-1948) / The Fever that comes from the North: The Private Correspondence of a Communist Marriage in the Origins of the Cold War (1947-1948)Keywords: Cold War , Communism , Uruguay , José Luis Massera , Carmen Garayalde Abstract: This article, based on the unpublished correspondence exchanged between a marriages recognized Uruguayan communist militancy between 1947 and 1948, describes the main features of a long distance relationship, approaching the common issues, the sensitivity of both regarding politics, musical, literary and artistic likes. As well, and as important as the already mentioned, these letters have pointed how the echoes of the Cold War permeated their careers, political affiliation, and even their active social life.
