Canto General: Neruda, la historia y los otros / Canto General: Neruda, the History and the Others

This article is prepared to present the history from its “poetic state”, exploring the interpretation of the historical discipline in the work Canto General (1950), written by Pablo Neruda. The work of art is examined from a historical point of view; in the research of the history sense in main contents such us: time, men and nature, among others. Finally, the protagonism that the lyric speaker acquires is analyzed, presented as poet-prophet, similar to the romantic poets from XIX Century.
