A Igreja Evangélica Luterana do Brasil em Guarapuava (1945-1973)

This present research is introduced in the History of Religion1’s field, and aims to analyze the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil, in the city of Guarapuava, through a historical and sociological bias. For a comprehension of relevant aspects about that religion denomination, we will use some Pierre Bourdieu’s concepts and a specific concept about religion of émile Durkheim. Through this concepts, we can understand the religion as a factor of social formation, in other others, the religion’s field works as a principle of structure that build experience, and we also come to the concept oh habitus, the generative principle for all thoughts and standards of life, so, to understand the everyday of this guarapuavanos Lutheran, as well as what define them as “be Lutheran”. In addiction to these concepts, the main point of this problematic research is the concept of religion’s rationalization, and also theBourdieu, since we already understand that the transfer of the Lutheran temple of the neighborhood of Batel to a central region of the city, in the year of 1962 can be considered as a factor of this religion rationality.
