Abstract:

The educational assessment has been shown as an untidy controversial issue in plans, programs and educational projects in Brazilian context. There are numerous theoretical propositions available in the literature, however, the practical operation of evaluative practices are not being enough. The assessment process has been considered, many times, as a simple proceed with strong appeal instrumental. The extension of theoretical proposal about assessment open space for discussion between two different ideological ideas: assessment as control andassessment as emancipator process. The text brings as guideline the models thathave had a major penetration in our midst and that still are present in the Brazilianeducational system.
