Experience in family care in mental health

Objective: To understand how it impacts the problem of mental disorder in the lives of family members and carers of users of PACs Acopiara-Ceará. Methods: Exploratory-descriptive qualitative study that used semi structured interviews as a tool for data collection. Results: the data reeled that the woman is still socially responsible for supplying the affection demands and caring of family members, including the ones that suffer from mental illness. Difficulties were indicated in the role of caregivers for the care promotion. Final consideration: knowing and understanding the familiar dynamic constitute a strong strategy for improving mental health assistance and promotion of life quality of the users.
